Tim Burton

Timothy Walter Burton is an American filmmaker, animator, and artist. Known for pioneering goth culture in the American film industry, Burton is famous for his gothic horror and fantasy films. These include Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow, Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Dark Shadows, Frankenweenie, and Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, as well as the television series Wednesday. Burton also directed the superhero films Batman and Batman Returns, the sci-fi film Planet of the Apes, the fantasy-drama Big Fish, the musical adventure film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and the fantasy film Alice in Wonderland. Burton has often worked with actors Winona Ryder, Michael Keaton, Johnny Depp, Lisa Marie, Helena Bonham Carter, Chris Sarandon, Catherine O'Hara, and composer Danny Elfman, who scored all but three of Burton's films.
