Thing Moot (or Ting Mound) is the small hill between the farmstead and the road in the foreground. At the same time as the Muslim conquests were beginning in the East, this spot was being used as an outdoor meeting point by courts and bodies responsible for the administration and organisation of the surrounding countryside. It's also a nice spot to stop for coffee and a biscuit.
