This is the latest in a short set of poor quality pictures of 'wildlife I have seen'. Previous photos include a kingfisher which is a tiny dot of about 4 pixels and an out of focus buzzard in a tree. I think this is a Red Underwing Moth, but it is the underneath of the moth so we can't see much of the distinctive red underwing. It was on the outside of what I now see to be quite a dirty window! This was taken back in August on my phone and I forgot all about it. I've looked it up on t'internet and it is pretty rare to see one this far north. I've found the name of someone I can report my sighting to, I hope he likes my rubbish photo! Edit, 5th December 2020: Now confirmed by the local moth recorder as a Red Underwing Moth.
